RnR TriCamps (RnR Sports LLP) are pleased to announce their third camp, at Sands Beach Hotel.


We have reserved accommodation at Sands Beach Hotel Lanzarote for a maximum of 24  athletes to join us on a pre-season triathlon camp. 


The aim of the camp is to prepare athletes for the 2020 summer season, in a way that focuses on personal development and achievement. The program covers all essential parts of pre-season triathlon training such as open water swimming, transition skills, brick workouts, swim, bike and run technical skills and recovery, as well as core stability, flexibility, planning for success and nutrition.


With Lanzarote climate being influenced by favorable trade winds from the Gulf ensuring warm weather. Average temperature at the end of March is 18-19°C with daytime highs of 21-23°C.

RnR TriCamps have chosen to base at Sand Beach Hotel as it offers good value for money for all athletes. It is a 3 minutes’ walk from the beach with a private lagoon pool and an 8 lane swimming pool of which we have booked dedicated lanes for our camp.


Facilities at the hotel include;

  • 7 swimming pools including a 25 meter heated swimming pool with 8 lanes

At RnR Tri Camps, we believe that triathlon training camps should be fun; as people giving up your holidays and weekends to them; and achievable for all abilities and not intimidating. We welcome all athletes of all abilities from Novice athletes to experienced Age-group and Ironman triathletes.


Our goal for this and all camps is to provide a schedule that focuses on personal improvement, and provides flexibility to cater for everyone’s individual needs, whether you have never done a triathlon before or are an experienced Ironman triathlete. All sessions are done in 2 or 3 ability groups so everyone feels comfortable training at the right level. Diversity is the key to our success!


In addition, guests will get a one-on-one run/core/planning coached session with one of the coaches and a one-to-few swim technical session.


Additionally, athletes also receive an inclusive sport massage session to help recovery.

The camp fee Includes*;


  • All core and option camp sessions and coaching

  • At least one, one-2-one coached sessions

  • At least one, one-2-few swim sessions

  • At least 1 sport massage

  • Athlete pack and goody bag (including technical top)



Camp Fee:


The camp fee* per is £375.​Non-refundable deposit of 325 GBP is taking at time of booking, the remainder will be invoiced along with your chosen accommodation (can be paid individually or as a group at this stage), for which payment due by 40 days prior to camp at by bank transfer.

*Please note RnR Sports LLP (Organisers) reserve right to cancel the event and issue full refunds without any further liability to participants. No refunds are issued in the last month prior to camp.


Accomodation package:

A special accommodation rate, on a half board basis, has been secured with Sand beach ( has been created for the camp, as such athletes must book via the RnR TriCamps Group


The RnR TriCamps Group rate is as below for a superior 1 bedroom room accommodation (other options available if desired);

£540 sole single occupancy 1 bedroom superior room accommodation with half board 


£370 per person for shared (2 person) occupancy 1 bedroom superior room (bedroom can be set up as double or twin and lounge area has pulldown small double as well) accommodation with half board

£312 per person for shared (3 person) occupancy 1 bedroom superior room (bedroom can be set up as double or twin and lounge area has pulldown small double as well) accommodation with half board

- Maximum occupancy: 2 Adults + a child

- Located next to the pool in Plaza Verde

- Pull down double bed and sofa bed in lounge area.

- Separate bedroom with double bed or twin beds (on request). Satellite TV.

- Full bathroom with bath or walk-in shower and double sink.

- Kitchenette includes a hob, kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge.

- Furnished terrace. Free Wi-Fi is available.


Post deposit payment being received you will be contacted with an accommodation booking form and details to make payment in full. Your accommodation portion of camp cost is a direct booking and under the terms of the hotel. 


In line with Sands Beach Resort Policy for cancellations prior to 28 days before arrival, we will refund 50% of the total accomodation package less deposit for non-participating guest, any transfer fees for refund or negative variations in exchange rate. Cancellations made within 0-28 days prior to arrival or no show will not be refunded.


Per Person Deposit is not refundable.

Participants will need to book their own flights. The coaches have booked via Easy Jet from various UK airports going to Lanzarote Airport (ACE) also known as Arrecife Airport on average for £220-£230 including basic return flight ticket (£100-£110) bike (£70) and an additional hold bag (£50).


Coaching Team:


Ryan Bowd, Co-Founder and Head of Athlete Development, Coach and Partner 


Past international age-group triathlete and multiple Ironman finisher who rode across America in 2006 with Jane Tomlinson and helped her to her successful Ironman finish in Florida. Has provided coaching to over 400 athletes at camps, corporate triathlon events, first timer days and on a prolonged 1-2-1 basis. Currently working with triathletes, adventure racers and channel swimmers.


Ryan focuses on a holistic approach to planning for one’s personal performance, which looks at; training, life balance, environmental factors and key skills development. Technical areas of focus are race skills and how to maximise efficiency of effort.


Having ran over 25 marathons, completed 15 plus long distance triathlons, road across America and competed in 100’s of triathlon’s, running, cycling and adventure race events whilst balancing part-time academic study, professional work, writing and company ownerships Ryan has a phenomenal insight into how to strike the balance between training, family/relationships and life.


Ralph Hydes, Head Coach and Partner


Ralph has been involved in triathlon for over 15 years and has competed for Great Britain at 8 World Championships in both triathlon and duathlon also competing in ironman and cycle events such as the tour de Yorkshire and the Etape du tour to name just two!


He has been a triathlon coach for the past 15 years and runs his own very successful triathlon coaching business.  He has trained 18 individuals to represent Great Britain of which 2 became world champions, and 2 others represented Canada and South Africa.  He has been a regular contributor to Triathlon magazines including Triathlete's World, Triathlon Plus, Triathlon Plus South Africa, Multi-sport South Africa, Transition magazine and has had articles in Men’s Health, Zest and national newspapers. 


Ralph was one of the London Triathlon’s official coaches for 10 years and involved with their training days at Dulwich training over 400 athletes on their training weekends. 


In addition Ralph was the official coach for Triforlife and Fun2tri events and has been the official coach for HSBC and Curry’s.  


Ralph is also the author of the award winning “Flexibility for triathletes and runners – injury free sport” DVD available at

Mary Twitchett, Coach, Strength & Condition and Yoga Instructor and Partner


Mary is an ex-elite international marathon runner (marathon pb 2.42.16). Mary's passion for sport, mental tenacity and cross-training regime, have allowed her to excel at many endurance sports including running, rowing, duathlons and triathlons.


Mary completed a masters degree in Health and Exercise Behaviour which included  sports science and sports nutrition within the  modules . Mary now combines her extensive personal experience, academic knowledge and coaching qualifications to help both novice and experienced athletes achieve their goals.


Mary leads some of the Strength and Conditioning and Yoga sessions, as well as provides technical 1-2-1’s in running and strength and condition technique.


Mary’s achievements include the current age-group gold medals at the World Rowing Championships; silver and bronze medal at World Duathlon.


She is the current British Standard distance Duathlon Champion and 2014 Middle Distance Triathlon champion in 2014 (Graffman 70.3 4hrs 54min 38secs)in her age group.

Robbie MacNab, Coach and Partner


Robbie actually started out as a complete novice on one of the first RnR tri camps and knows what it takes to go from beginner to six time Ironman finisher through participating in the camps, including Ironman Lanzarote in 2016. He has represented Great Britain several times for his age group in the sprint distance and aquathlon, and is also a British Triathlon level 1 qualified coach and is currently studying to complete his level 2.


Robbie helps with all sessions and focuses on helping beginners on the camp.


Clare Hydes, Sports Massage


After attaining her degree in Sports science, Clare spent a number of years working in the fitness industry, latterly in corporate fitness centre management.


Clare has also worked as a swimming teacher and coach but more recently works as a nutritional therapist and sports massage practitioner.


Clare has many years' experience in triathlon and has competed at international age group level. She has held both British and World Champion titles for age group Aquathlon.
